Forget what your mum said when as a kid you were eyeing the slushy-making machines! Slushies can be as tasty as they are nutritious if you make them.
Pack them with nutrients instead of sugar. The texture will be a bit thicker, but you will get your treat without the unnecessary insuline spike.
I like this strawberry one. It is easy to make, tasty and gives the rebellious child in me a sense of victory.
200 ml almond milk
12 frozen strawberries
1 tbsp organic pea protein
1 tbsp organic baobab powder
1 tbsp agave syrup (if you like it sweet)
Put all ingredients into your blender.
Wait 5-10 minutes so the strawberries soften but are still frozen when you decide to blend.
Don’t wait any longer as the ice will melt!
